Refunds: Please note that once entry is made if you are unable to compete we will be happy to hold payment and offer entry to the next race next year. Identities are carefully checked at event registration and anyone attempting to take another person’s place on race day will not be permitted to race. Please try to be as accurate as possible with entry information – changes to entry details (such as name, date of birth and estimated swim time…) cannot be made once entry to the event closes on 28th June 2019.

The Details:

Last year this event sold out – early entry is highly recommended!

Please note: ALL child entrants MUST be able to swim the distance specified in their age group category confidently using breaststroke or front crawl strokes only.

We would love to let all children have a go at our race however due to the safety of all of our competitors we must ask parents/guardians to ensure that children are able to exit the pool, find and collect their bicycle (on their own) and confidently cycle and run around the course. Children will have timing chips attached to their ankles (as the adults do) and in line with BTF rules must understand and be able to count their own lengths/laps.

We do, of course, have plenty of friendly marshals in the pool area, on the course and in transition to help direct, support, cheer on and aid the children whenever needed! Children will be well briefed at the start of the race and we welcome spectators encouraging competitors (providing spectators remaim outside of the course).

Start Times:

Children will race within their age group categories and races will start at staggered times. Youngest age-groups racing first.

The 2018 race pack with important information, FAQs and course details from last years event is available here.

Please note that the detailed course layout information and the all important race start times will be emailed out (once our online entries close) 2 weeks prior to race day. Any last minute event information and the start list will be published on our website!

The Junior Triathlon follows a different course to our adult race. It remains completely off-road, following an open and flat lapped route. Any parents participating in the adult race may register and set up their own transition at the same time as the child.

Race start times will be emailed out when our online entries close 2 weeks prior to race day. Any last minute event changes, detailed information and the start list will also be published on our website and Facebook event page.

The Tristars Youth Category will race alongside adults on the adult course. The minimum age is 15 years at 31st December 2019.

Our 2018 race information pack with important information, FAQs and course details from last year is available here.

The Adult (and Youth) Race Course:
Swim:  The swim will be 400m (12 lengths) in the leisure centre’s 33m heated pool.

Bike:  The 10km cycle is entirely off-road circumnavigating the perimeter of the park. The course does not require technical mountain bike expertise (or bravery!) however an off-road, mountain or hybrid bike is recommended. The course will be 5 laps around the park and pitch and putt golf course.

Run:  The single lap run is off-road and mixed terrain (mainly grass) it is approx 2.5km around the park and will be an enjoyable end to the race!
